Native to central Asia, alfalfa is one of the oldest cultivated plants in the world. It has traditionally been used for hay to feed animals, but has also been used for centuries as human food. Alfalfa has an extensive root system that allows it to absorb a high level of nutrients including vitamins A, B, C, D, E, K, niacin, pantothenic acid, biotin, and folic acid. Alfalfa is a body cleanser, infection fighter and natural deodorizer with antifungal and antibacterial properties. It helps the body assimilate protein, calcium, and other nutrients and is often used in weight gain programs because of its high protein and appetite stimulating properties. Alfalfa has also been used to help treat anemia, diabetes, nausea, and ulcers.
Alfalfa leaf juice powder is made by juicing the leaf to remove all cellulose, in turn creating a pure juice concentrate. The juice is then dehydrated.
Suggested use: 1-2 teaspoons in water, juice, or smoothie.
