Tummy-Taming Herbal Switchel
Long before the days of energy drinks, farmers and field workers consumed switchels or ‘haymaker’s punch’ to cool down on hot days. Originating in the Caribbean in the 15th century, these switchels were carried into the fields to keep workers hydrated and nourished.
Typically an effervescent blend of apple cider vinegar, ginger root and honey, switchels packs a punch of beneficial enzymes, probiotics and anti-inflammatory compounds that fortify digestion and immune health. ½ Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
3 TBSP Pure Maple Syrup
1 TBSP Lemon Juice
4 Cups Soda Water
4 Dropperfuls of Harmonic Arts' Herbal Bitters
- Combine Ginger Syrup, vinegar, maple syrup, and lemon juice in a large pitcher and stir until maple syrup is dissolved. Chill until cold!
- To serve, dilute with Soda Water and pour switchel over ice. Add a few dropperfuls of our Herbal Bitters for a tummy-taming boost and cheers to a happy gut!
