Reishi Mushroom Powder

All our Mushrooms undergo a water extraction to release water-soluble polysaccharides, and then our Reishi and Chaga also undergo an alcohol extraction since they are denser in texture. The mushrooms then go through a vacuum concentration, which removes any alcohol, along with a water extraction which removes any water. The mushrooms are then spray-dried to create a water-soluble, alcohol-free powder.

Our Mushroom Powders are water-soluble, which means that the powder can harden if the jar is exposed to moisture. While our Mushroom Powders are still safe and effective to consume if they’ve hardened, we understand this can be a frustrating experience. In short, Concentrated Mushroom powders are extracts made from 100% fruiting body mushrooms. They are more potent then steam extracted mushroom products, with a wider variety and higher concentration of active compounds. 

Concentrated Mushroom Powder: This process uses a water and/or alcohol menstruum to extract the mushrooms' medicinal compounds. The resulting liquid is spray dried, producing a highly-concentrated, water-soluble powder. This product is easily dissolved in liquid or can be added to foods and drinks.

Suggested use: 1/8-1/2 teaspoon, 1 time daily.

Steam-Extract Products: The entire mushroom is steam-treated to extract the medicinal compounds and make them bioavailable. It is then ground into a fine powder for easy consumption.

Our Chaga is wild harvested from living birch trees in an organic-certified forest in Siberia. Our Cordyceps are grown on substrates consisting of organic soybean and organic brown rice in China’s Zhejiang province (no substrate is included in the finished product). Our Lion’s Mane is cultivated on cedar sawdust in the Fujian Province. Our Reishi are organically grown on aged Duanwood logs at a small, family-run farm located in the Nine Dragon Mountains. Our Turkey Tail is grown on logs and deadfall in Northeastern China's remote forest, located in the Heilongjiang region.

Our mushroom products do not contain gluten or maltodextrin. Our Mushroom Capsules contain a few additional ingredients: 

• Hypromellose controls the release of the Mushroom Powder into the body.  
• Organic brown rice flour acts as a filler, as the dose of our Mushroom Powders do not fill an entire capsule. 
• Vegetable magnesium stearate keeps the ingredients with the capsule from sticking together. 

Proper extraction is imperative to yielding potent levels of fungal polysaccharides, triterpenes, and beta-glucans that are easy for your body to absorb. Each of our mushrooms undergo hot water extraction to unlock these active compounds. Chaga and Reishi also undergo alcohol extraction as they are denser in texture and require the extra step to get to the beneficial triterpenes within the mushrooms. Our Mushroom Capsules have a shelf life of 2 years, our Mushroom Powders have a shelf life of 4 years, and our Mushroom Tinctures have a shelf life of 5 years.

Before our mushrooms leave the lab where they undergo extraction, they’re tested for quality, purity and potency. This includes physical characteristics, chemical characteristics (including polysaccharide content), and microbiological characteristics. The results of this testing are documented in a Certificate of Analysis, which you can request from us at any time by contacting help@harmonicarts.ca. We also cyclically contract 3rd party testing at Canadian labs to further verify and validate the results of the Certificates of Analysis.
