Rooted in Place, Built With Care

Rooted in Place, Built With Care

Author: Angela Willard (Co-founder & Clinical Herbalist) | Published:

There is something meaningful about having built a botanical brand on the West Coast of BC. The land, the forests, the ocean... it all informs the way we work. Every formula we create is conceived, crafted, and packaged right here on  Vancouver Island. We think of each bottle and blend as a quiet reflection of the place it comes from.

We are proudly Canadian, deeply rooted in this community, and committed to local manufacturing. At the same time, we recognize that some of the botanicals we rely on simply cannot thrive in our climate. When that is the case, we choose our global sourcing partners with the same care we bring to our own formulations—prioritizing quality, ethics, and the integrity of each ingredient. We believe you should not have to choose between supporting local and sourcing the best the world has to offer.

Building this brand has never been about speed or scale. It is about showing up with consistency, care, and a deep respect for the plants we work with, and the people who use them. That trust is not something we take for granted—it is earned with every batch.

None of this would be possible without the community that has supported us along the way. Thank you for being a part of this journey, for trusting us with your wellness, and for believing in a small team on an island with big intentions.

With gratitude,

Angela, Yarrow, and the Harmonic Arts Team

Canadian Organizations We've Supported

Cumberland Community Forest Society

The Cumberland Community Forest Society (CCFS) is a champion of land conservation and ecological stewardship in the village of Cumberland, BC, and surrounding region. The Cumberland Forest is integral the quality of life of our community. Not only is it home to a variety of well-loved walking and biking trails, but it contains diverse ecosystems that nurture climate resilience and effortlessly work to remove carbon from our atmosphere. Our support of CCFS is ongoing and to date, we have donated $79,000 towards their conservation efforts.

Comox Valley Senior Support Society

This organization helps older adults who are experiencing isolation and loneliness, or who are feeling vulnerable due to challenging situations. What started as a viable way of offering emotional support to seniors quickly expanded to include support to seniors struggling with transportation, housing, elder abuse, information and education issues, resources, and other services.

Canadian Red Cross - Alberta Wildfires

In the summer of 2024, we donated $1,575 to the Canadian Red Cross, specifically to provide support during the Alberta wildfires. Our largest retail partner in Alberta is Nutters, and their storefront in Jasper had to close their doors for a few weeks as they evacuated due to the wildfire. When we made this donation, the Government of Canada and the Government of Alberta matched every dollar.

Trans Canada Trail

For our Green Friday promotion last year, we donated $1,068 to Trans Canada Trail – the longest multi-use trail system in the world. It reaches every province and territory, connecting 15,000 communities between all three of Canada’s coastlines. We believe that supporting the maintenance of this trail system is an impactful step towards nurturing the connection between people and planet.
