Seed-Cycling Bliss Balls

Seed-cycling is a practice that consists of adding certain seeds to your diet during each phase of your menstrual cycle. It’s an excellent way to add valuable nutrients for hormone balance and cycle regulation. We have two bite-sized recipes that support the follicular and luteal phases of the menstrual cycle. Both feature ingredients that cultivate a blissful state and nourish the body and mind.

Each Seed-Cycling Bliss Ball recipe makes about 6 balls. Store them in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

Follicular Phase Recipe

Based on the average 28-day cycle, the follicular phase typically occurs during days 1-14. Estrogen is the dominant hormone during this phase, and ensuring it stays in balance is an integral part of a regulated cycle. For this bliss ball recipe, pumpkin seeds and flax are highlighted for their benefits. Flax aids in balancing estrogen production, pumpkin seeds provide zinc. The seeds work together to soothe inflammation.

The follicular phase recipe features our Matcha Mind Elixir, with Matcha, Moringa and Lion’s Mane to uplift the mind.

What You’ll Need:

Food processor or blender

6 TBSP Raw Pumpkin Seeds

4 TBSP Ground Flax

2 TBSP Rolled Oats

1 TBSP Nut or Seed Butter

1 TBSP Honey

1 TBSP Coconut Oil

1 TBSP Harmonic Arts Matcha Mind Elixir plus extra for coating

1 TBSP Nut Mylk

How to Make Follicular Phase Bliss Balls:
  1. Add the oats, flax and pumpkin seeds into the food processor and pulse to obtain a flour consistency
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and process to obtain a sticky mixture. Add more nut mylk if the mixture is too dry
  3. Roll the mixture into balls using your hands
  4. Place the balls onto a plate and roll in Matcha Mind Elixir, coating evenly
  5. Transfer into an airtight container and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving

Luteal Phase Recipe

The Luteal Phase typically occurs between days 15-28 of your cycle when progesterone takes over as the dominant hormone. This is the phase where symptoms of pre-menstrual syndrome can show up. Sesame and sunflower seeds work together in these bliss balls to combat PMS symptoms. The sunflower seeds contain selenium, a valuable mineral that supports liver function. Proper liver function is integral for elimination of excess hormones.

This luteal phase recipe features our Elevate Elixir. Pave the way to bliss by elevating mood and enhancing focus with Lion’s Mane Powder, Cardamom and Lotus Pollen.
